Original, Variations, Revisions

The Baseline is approved and it is in line with the original scope of work. But the Owner decide to add more scope to the project and they issue corresponding VOs. Each VO means additional effort for the Contractor, additional resources, additional cost and possibly additional time. It is planner’s task to include in the time-schedule the new additional scope and to publish the revised schedule as soon as each one of the VOs become part of the contract. The revised schedule is from now on the new project schedule until the next VO is issued by the Owner. All is described in the presentation below. I choose as an example a project of a Wastewater Treatment Plant, inspired by the Wastewater Treatment Plant project in Managua, Nicaragua.

Please be aware of the following:

– The time-schedules used to support my explanation are very schematic; the aim was that the content has not to exceed one page;

– The content of (almost) each sheet is presented in two areas: (1) pics, bar charts, curves etc. and (2) narrative description. It is advisable that you pay equal attention to both these areas as they contain complementary information.
