Danish Railways: Electrification Programme, Denmark

Scope: Electrification Programme consists of an upgrade of main lines of the national Danish railways not previously equipped with electrification. The contract includes the design, delivery, build, test and commissioning of an Overhead Catenary System for approx. 1500 km railway including a complete system of Traction Power Supply. Executed in a consortium with Siemens and Aarsleff . Value: USD 400 MM approx.

Position: Consortium Planning Coordinator & Civil Works Detail Planner

Responsibilities: Producing the detailed Project Baseline time-schedule. Monthly updating the schedule. Weekly updating and producing the three weeks look ahead schedule reports. Weekly issuing the status of the progress on site planned vs. actual values. Weekly calculating and issuing the status of the production of the design documents, planned vs. actual. On monthly basis gathering data from all sections and issuing the Monthly Progress Report to the Owner. Participating to weekly coordination meetings with the E&M partner in the JV and to weekly progress meeting with the Owner. Participating in monthly progress meetings with the Owner. Producing fragnets and providing schedule support for the EoT claims immediately after the occurrence of the Delay Events.

Panama Metro, Line 2, Panama – Tendering phase

Scope: Civil Works, E&M Works, Supply Rolling Stock, for the Line 2 of the Metro. Value: USD 2 billion approx.

Position: Lead Planning Coordinator for Detailed Tender Planning

Responsibilities: Assembling the Detailed Tender Planning/Schedule. Producing the Schedule-related documents as specifically required in Tender Specs: (1) Fully Integrated Detailed Schedule: Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, C&I and Start Up. (2) Planned Progress Curves and Planned Cash Flow. (3) Resources and outputs histograms and curves. (4) Critical Path. (5) Specific Layouts.

Laela-Sumbawanga Road (95.3km), bitumen standard, Tanzania

Scope: Build and refurbish 95.3 km of bitumen road between Laela and Sumbawanga towns in Tanzania, the road through Sumbawanga town, and 3 new Concrete Bridges made by in-situ concrete foundations built on drilled concrete piles, in-situ concrete columns and prefab beams and deck slabs. Value: USD 100 MM approx.

Position: Forensic Planner / Chief Delay Analyst

Responsibilities: Re-issuing the Baseline of the Project by using Primavera P6: a fully logically linked network resources loaded, allowing me to issue the planned progress curves and planned daily and monthly outputs. Furthermore, unifying the many project planning programs each one issued when a new project manager has been assigned to the project. Issuing the As Built program. Producing Time-Location diagrams, Charts and Measured Miles comparative curves.

Participating in meetings with the project’s Mediator.

2nd Bridge over the Incheon bay, South Korea

Scope: Provide Project Management Services to the Owner during the construction of the 2nd Bridge over the Incheon bay. The construction project consists of: (1) A Cable stayed bridge in total length of 1,480 m and having the height of the main span Pylons of 230.5 m. (2) The Cable stayed bridge has an 800 m main span and is built as a steel box cable stay bridge. (3) Two Approach Bridges structures of total length 1,778 m, comprising segmental prefabricated concrete box girders of 150 m spans. (4) Low-level viaducts of total length 8,400 m comprising 50 m prefabricated box girders erected in full spans using the Full Span Launching Method. (5) Total length of the Project (marine works over the Incheon Bay) is 12,343 m. (6) Project includes a Toll Plaza and a Bridge Operation Centre as well. Access to Bridge is through Interchanges connecting the Bridge to the existing highways. Total Value: USD 1,5 billion

Position: Senior Planning Engineer and Cost Controller

Responsibilities: Monitoring and analyzing the Contractor’s program and progress of works. Identifying deficiencies and analyzing trends to timely identify potential problems. Providing inputs to the Weekly reports to the Management. Managing the Monthly Report to Client and Lenders. Managing the Administration and Certification of the Contractor’s Interim Payment Application, IPA; Application based on milestones of progress and a complicated procedure to calculate the payment from both the Concessionaire and the Government subsidy;

2 x 10 km Highways to connect the 2nd Bridge over the Panama Canal, Panama

Scope: Provide Project Management Services to the Panamanian Public Works Authority. The 2 x 10 km of highways are constructed for connecting the 2nd Bridge over the Panama Canal to the existing network of roads in Panama City and to the existing Pan-American Highway respectively.

Works consisted in 2 x 2 lines concrete surface, drainages, culverts and bridges. Value: USD 90 MM

Contractor was more than a year behind schedule, and the Authorities wanted to know an estimated completion date of the project.

Position: Consulting services –Primavera Specialist

Responsibilities: Conducting an in-depth analysis of the Contractor’s work schedule, considering actual productivity output and the remaining quantities of works, in conjunction with the forecasted weather conditions in Panama. The estimated completion dates resulted in one year delay after the originally estimated date. Compared to the finish dates calculated by me, for one of the highways the actual finish variance was 1 week and for the second one the actual variance was 3 weeks.

2nd Bridge over the Panama Canal, Panama

Scope; Construction Works for the Bridge structure that incorporates: (1) A Cable stayed main bridge with an overall length of 820 m and having a 420 m main span. Concrete deck is constructed in situ using a launching formwork system, in elements of 6 m length; (2) 4 spans of Approach viaducts with a total length of 232 m. Approach viaducts are constructed in situ using a full span method. (3) Two 180 m high Towers. Towers are constructed with a Jumping formwork method in lifts of 4 m high. Foundations are built on solid rock (one bank) and on drilled in-situ concrete piles (the other bank). Value: USD 110 MM

Responsibilities: Producing the Time–Chainage Diagram of the Project. Preparing the initial Baseline schedule of the project. Monthly updating the project schedule. Taiwan High Speed Rail Project, Taiwan

Scope: Construction of the Concrete structures (for further installation of the E&M works, by others)

Responsibilities: Issuing the design schedule for the design subcontractor, in line with the contractual requirements and with the construction sequence as well. Applying the earned value methodology based on man-hours for assessing the progress of the design phase.
